of Northern California, Inc.

The German Shepherd Classic has been a successful fundraiser for German Shepherd Rescue for the past four years. Our first golf tournament was held in October 2003 at Boundary Oak Golf Course. In 2004, we moved to Blackhawk Country club for our second, third and fourth years.

We generally draw between 100 and 144 golfers and over 300 attendees for our dinner!

Special guest Diane Dwyer (news anchor at NBC 11) has graciously donated her time as our auctioneer each year. We also have special guests from police K9 units, as well as Guide Dogs for the Blind and Travis Air Force base who give their time to meet the public before the golfing and at the dinner afterwards.

While guests sipped cocktails and visited with old and new friends, they had the opportunity to bid on a wide variety of auction items. The silent auction was followed by dinner, a very spirited live auction and the drawing for our raffle prizes.

Since our adoption fees cover less than one third of the average cost of each dog we bring into our program, fund-raising is critical to continuing our work. Our German Shepherd Classic is becoming well known throughout the Bay Area and, thanks to generous support, allows us to fund our rescue operations for another year.

Our events have been huge successes and we've continued to exceed our fundraising goals!
